How to start a CPR training business
There are three common ways to start a CPR training business in the U.S.
You can become a Red Cross Licensed Training Provider, teach as an instructor aligned with an AHA Training Center, or partner with an existing network such as ALLCPR's AUTOCPR centers. Each path asks for different things up front.
The three paths compared
| Path | What you do | What you need first |
|---|---|---|
| Red Cross Licensed Training Provider | Run your own business teaching Red Cross courses under a Red Cross license | A license to use the curriculum, instructor certification, and a registered business |
| AHA instructor with a Training Center | Teach AHA courses as an instructor aligned with an AHA Training Center | A current AHA provider card, then the AHA Instructor course (online, in-person and monitoring parts) |
| AUTOCPR partner with ALLCPR | Open a low-staff AUTOCPR center inside the ALLCPR network | A space of about 15–20 m² and an application to ALLCPR |
What every path needs
- A business entity set up under your state's laws, with the right insurance and tax registration
- Training equipment such as CPR manikins, AED trainers, masks and gloves
- A way to schedule classes, take payments and issue certificates
The Red Cross also suggests teaching for an established organization first to build experience before going independent.
Where AUTOCPR fits
AUTOCPR is built for people who have a small space and want to run CPR training with few staff. ALLCPR provides the AI Agent operating platform for enrollment and scheduling, smart manikins that record performance, and a standardized teaching process within Red Cross and AHA frameworks. See the AUTOCPR partner page.
Every business carries risk. Results depend on location, demand and your own work, and no income is guaranteed.
Questions
What is the difference between a Red Cross Licensed Training Provider and an AHA Training Center instructor?
A Red Cross Licensed Training Provider is licensed to use and teach Red Cross courses independently. An AHA instructor completes the AHA Instructor course and aligns with an AHA Training Center, which oversees their teaching.
Is an AUTOCPR partnership a franchise?
ALLCPR grows AUTOCPR through project partnerships, corporate collaborations and authorized franchise models. The terms for each are covered on the intro call after you apply.
How much space do I need to open a CPR training center?
It depends on the model. A traditional classroom needs room for a group and manikins. An AUTOCPR center needs about 15–20 m², roughly 160–215 sq ft.
